currently, no there is not. To restore a screwed up tsop, your only choices are homebrew or xtender.

I do have an Xtender chip, but I have one question.  The xbox that Im speaking of has an upgraded hard drive in it, a feature which the Xtender chip does not support.  With an Xtender chip fitted on this box, will I at least be able to boot off an EvoX CD to flash the TSOP?

The only way to fix this is to install a mod chip that replaces the bios

The Matrix does NOT replace the bios?

So if you botch tsop ... simply fitting the matrix to mode ALWAYS ON
will not boot ??   I know no LIVE but.. really ?

No, with the upgraded hdd and an xtender, you'll get an error and it won't boot. If I were you, I'd just put the original hdd back in and boot evox off a CD, the put the new one back in after you've flashed the bios.
