Thanks for the advice. I tried  what you said but it still isnt working. I have emailed to Xodus people about it so hopefully that will help. Other than that I tried the link to tips that you gave and found out that it may be possible that I have a dirty contact. I will go out and by some alcohol tomorrow and clean it with that.

Help Needed Installing Matrix Chip

I tried last night booting up the xbox in normal mode rather than test mode, and the light was green. So I am assuming this means that the chip is installed okay, but the test mode doesnt work. However, the XBox still comes on to the normal MS boot up stuff. Does this mean it hasnt worked, or is this to be expected?

I tried burning a boot disk (evox) to a disk and booting that, but the xbox just said it couldnt read the disk.

The bios I used was evolution X 2.5 and the disk was an image of EvolutionX V1.8.458. Also the XBox is version 1.0.

No need to be insulting Ace. I have been working with games consoles professionally for the last 10 years. I am no fool. I merely suggested that the green light might mean its okay as I have read over on the other mod chip forum that the test light doesnt work properly on 1.1 xboxes. Therefore I supposed that it might possibly be true for some 1.0 xboxes.

If you dont have anything useful to say, dont bother posting.

QUOTE

The lumps of solder are of wildy varying height and it seems to me to that it will be very difficult for them all to connect.

Plus, you didn't even know what the washer you got was...

Another thing that worries me is that in the manual, its says I should have something called a spacer. I cant find this anywhere. All I have is the BIOS chip, the PROGRAMMER and the star shaped washer.

Hahahaha... oh ya.. I find those two comments hillarious, first one, because you stated the problem, but decided not to fix it, second.. spacer=washer.. how did you not know that?
