                                    If you have an new HD and are using evox...Isn't it logical your XBOX won't work without a modchip installed? Don't you need to get the original dash renamed and HDD locked....

                                    Well the original problem could have been the HD yes but now I can't even get it to boot anything. You don't even need a hard drive in there to get to the error screen or a modded bios.

Bingo! It's your hard drive. Put in you old one and see how you do...I belive you jumped the gun a bit w/ your matrix....All that you probably needed to do was reposition the chip. Since you stripped the threads you can still solder it back in.....however if I were you I'd find someone to do that for you.

                                    I could do the soldering myself but I am too lazy. I jus found a longer screw, that worked.
