Matrix Arrived But Is Missing The Screw

There is not a screw coming with the matrix. The screw you are suppose to use is on the XBOX moterboard. Just look at the installation tutorial.

You know...that is true.  Thank you.

Let me tell you, though.  I have had enough issues trying to get this chip in my hand that I just immediately jumped to conclusions.

I had done my research on this...a month ago...when I ordered it.  So it just slipped my mind.

Again, thanks...that's a load off my mind.

I'd recommend going through your screw collection and find a screw of the same diameter but just a little bit longer. I've read a few messages from people saying they stripped the screw hole using the original screw. I used a screw from an old PSX case and it fits nice and tight.

That's bullshit, just use the screw from your motherboard

What the hell?!?!  Your first post is a flame.  Who are you to tell him it's bullshit what he read.  In fact if you did some research you would see that when the matrix came out there were quite a few people that stripped it.  One person even made a tutorial on using a bolt instead.  I hope you start reading the threads before you post again in the future.

Congrats.

Just follow the New HD readme and you should be okay.

I guess the step that a lot are screwing up on is the portion of copying the contents of your XBox C & E drives over to the "CDrive" and EDrive" directories of the New HD ISO, and then burning a CD with that stuff.

I used the NewHDEvox thing and it worked flawlessly.

Just keep in mind that you'll have zero out the drive if its used though.

damn...I was hoping the EvoxHD setup would zero it out for me...

When you say zero out, though...is that a euphimism for just doing a full format vs. a quick format?  I always thought of Zeroing a harddrive as something to be done back in the day when the drive was having some problems.

So...all I need to do is put the HD into my PC and under windows2000 do a full format on the drive?  Or do I need to zero it out with a specific program?
