I purchased from easybuy recently, from the US.  my order shipped on 10/22, and I received it this past Monday, 10/28.  Order number was 916xx.

examine the programmer for any missing components and check pins with ohm meter. mine was missing a diode and i tried everything too. so i soldered a diode on that i found in my basement and it worked first time. so yes check to see if its missing components, i was so mad i didnt notice it sooner on mine.

No matter what I couldn't get my Thinkpad with WinXP to flash my Matrix.  I reset the LPT type, turned on interrupts, didn't matter.  I went and used my wife's desktop with Win98 and it worked the first time.  No problem.

Try diff computers and the new Windows flash tool they released.

just to update you on my bad programmer experience, i just received a new programmer from easybuy today, and they admitted that i had a faulty one.  again it was visibly missing a 3 prong diode next to the port where it connects to the chip.  if anyone else has this problem they will see it with their own eyes.

wink.gif

wondering if it's the programmer's fault or my computer...
i've read that the progammer might be defective, (missing a diode)...
...seing as i dont know much about electronics and it's components, could someone post a pic of proper working programmer that's not missing any pieces? It would be much appreciated.  biggrin.gif

Living in Montreal, if all else fails, maybe i should go straight to the EasyBuy2k office and knock on their doors with my non-working matrix in my hand and a frown on my face.   dry.gif
