I don't know how or why, and I didn't want to experiment, because it took me about two hours to get the chip flashed and I didn't want to risk that...

But try a faster PC, maybe this could help!

Where do i change this setting EEP???

I have tried on a win 2k and a win 98 and no difference now i tried wmilk and got the same problems as pikapfw

are you KEEPING the chip pinched to the programmer the whole time? You cannot let go. I got the exact same error messages till I did this.

i think that i was, i dont have the chip now (gave it to my friend so he can try it on his pc's and i aint seeing him till friday/saturday) but im gonna try it, any more suggestions?
