I had the same problem. One of the pogo pins was a little sticky and wasn't making good contact with the board. Make sure the pins are fully out so when you screw it down it connects.

User end problem?  The fricking chip doesn't work as advertised!  I have moved the chip 100 times, nothing!  Clearly SUPPLIER PROBLEM
and this power down, then up, down, up and error happens even without the chip in.

This is a good way to give the Matrix a bad name isn't it? You can't start slagging a piece of kit off just because your a dumb ass can you?

I can't believe everybody s*it*ing on the matrix.  I installed several xtender 1.1's.  All went in perfect.  I just removed my xtender and installed matrix a few days ago.  took all of 5 mins.  How can you blame the matrix chip for your problems.  Granted since you tried so many times and it wasn't working it could have been a bad bios, dip switches wrong, bad connection, or bad chip but......the way I see it, when you tried to solder a solderless chip to your xbox this voided the chip warranty.  I'm not sure how easybuy would see it and it does suck they haven't responded.  I myself am waiting on my second order from them still. (ordered a week ago and had next day shipping).  Don't diss the chip just cause the company sucks.

thanks Clifface.  We appreciate your responses that have nothing to do with the problem.  ohmy.gif)
The chip was NOT soldered to the motherboard.  Solder was added to the motherboard.

Obviously, yours installed in 5 minutes..CUZ IT WORKED.....MINE DIDN'T.  By all the people posting the same issue, I would think that you would pick up on the fact that ALL shipped Matrix chips DO NOT WORK.
I used PROVEN bios, I installed them repeatedly.  It programmed perfectly.  The chips do not work consistently.  That is the issue.

If your Matrix installed well, I'm happy for ya.  Mine and many other's DID NOT even though we followed directions and went overboard trying to get them to work.

Don't Diss my posts just because you don't bother to read them.  Worship Easybuy on another thread and leave this one for possible solutions to my problem.

Does anyone else think a lpc modchip would help?  The Xbox is currently flashing yellow as soon as I turn it on.  I am guessing this is implying a short/voltage problem instead of bios.

Thanks SirOuttaLuck.  As quoted above from you:
"Please stop posting idiotic responses."

You are asking "Does anyone else think a lpc modchip would help? "
If YOU were reading posts you would have seen:

look if there is a short on the back of the mobo at the lpc.if not you've killed your bios.a lpc mod should fix this

Stop trying to flame, we're all after the same thing here.

have either of you contacted the xodus support , from their site ? .. thats what they openly advetise they are there for ?

From what you have both said , it is very clear that both your chips are functional , the fact that the chip can be programmed means the chip is functional ,  the error in installation is due to either bad pogo connection ( easily checked and verified ) or a controller error which again can be either bypassed or verified easily .. either way you can save yourselves a lot of frustration by simply contacting the team.

"The Xbox is currently flashing yellow as soon as I turn it on"

now it's yellow?before it was red/green.yellow means that there's a problem with your video connection.are you sure you putted in the video connnector?maybe stupid to forget that but it's possible

Sir Luck .....I hate easybuy as most of us here do....I have an xecutor myself.....Non-the less.

THIS IS A USER END ERROR!!!

so stop moaning and groaning. Post pics of your mother board so we can see it.....post with chip in and without chip in. The fact that you put solder on the MB says a lot about the fact that this is surely a user end error. THis chip is solderless meaning no solder needed ANYWHERE.

Sorry for the harsh response but there is never a need for a post that says **** sucks. People did it all the time when the executor came out. If it was the case I wouldn't be playing homebrew on my Xbox. So in the future post I think something is wrong with me instalation some one help please. And then say thank-you when someone helps. You warrent responses like this yourself and have no one to blame but yourself.

K, everyone, I followed the advice of a couple of ya and found that yes, my original bios got fried out.
With tedious adjustments, I got it to the point of showing the MS X without it shutting down, then flashing Red (thanks scan-c and krazyjosh5).
Unfortuneately, I can't seem to keep it aligned while I put it back together.
At least I know its not totally fried out!
I think I will ship it out to have a soldered mod chip put in - this is too much trouble, lol.
