Yup mine wouldnt program either until I pinched the chip and the programmer together with my thumb across the pins on the bottom, wouldnt work when I put something between my thumb and the pins so guess the added resistance from your body helps /shrug

I had some problems with this as well. I read a few posts and found out that I needed to change my IRQ to 7 and enter my bios and change to EPP. At that point I was still having problems. Until, I decided to squeeze the programmer and chip together. BRAVO!!! It worked, but I had to hold it for 25 fuckin minutes. Maybe I should have spliced my 1 meg bios before I flashed with winlpc. Haha, anyway that's what I had to do to get it to work. Hope this helps.  You really gotta squeeze that sucker!

WinLPC would not recognize the chip until I changed the port settings.  On my IBM laptop running XP Pro, my port was set to IO range 03BC-03BE.  Once I set WinLPC to 3BC it worked like a charm.

I still had to hold it while I flashed, of course!!
