2 questions:

Do you have a secure connection (the pogo pins)
What mode do you have the chip in?

Can you flash it? Can you verify it? Its probably just a bad connection. Thats what you get w/ solderless.

A) this is becuase you fried your chip becuase you installed it into the xbox in the wrong mode w/ the programmer attached which will fry it.

cool.gif this is becuase your connection to the motherbroad is bad, that's been said to happen alot of experianced users advise useing a longer screw as the screw you take out when the washer and the modchips pcb are added is only in about two threads on the screw.

                                    A) neah, cuz it works correctly for a brief period of a few days

cool.gif will try it, I know I had to replace the stock spacer to get it to work properly initially so a new screw is worth a shot, even tho it still says the connection is valid when I check it.

Same thing happened to me. Works for awhile then suddenly back to original bios. I opened the box, move the dvd/hd to the side and push down the matrix with my fingers (with enough force that pogo pins will not bounce up). Voila!! my Evox blue X came up. It must be the screw that's not tighten up enough. I bought some crazy glue and dipped some into that screw hole. Re-screw the matrix back to the board (while pressing down the matrix)

Crazy glue is great. I recommend using that in addition to the screw. Unlike everyone's believe, you can still unscrew the matrix with little force without causing any damage to the boards.

p.s. matrix will show green light even when not all the pins are connected. Don't know why but it happened on me.

Sounds reasonable altho I'm a bit leary to use crazy glue... I'm messy as hell with that stuff.  GOnna try a longer screw here because I noticed the last connection pin at the top didn't hold down all that well with the included screw/spacer... will letcha know how that works.

Did anyone of you report the problem to Matrix team? I just sent an email to Matrix support and told them the problem. I wish to have a reply from them ASAP and I will post the answer here right the way.

                                    So what, whoopee doo!

The nature of non-solder connections is that some will work fine, others will have problems.  All of them are likely to become more and more problematic as time goes on.  Oxydation will cause the contacts to gradually fail.  The older the box, the more likely to fail!

I am sure you have all experienced times when some electrical item has failed and all that was required to get it working was removing some wires and re-attaching!  That is the exact same problem!
