yes there is a new version of the xbox and there is no modchip YET!
although they are very rare and basically only found in aystralia.
all countries other then australia are still selling old stock, so before you buy it, check the back there is a little hole in the box where u can see a date, if it's BEFORE august it's an old xbox and it is moddable.. =)

Yo,

Jepps, bought a xbox machine today. Production date 2002-04-20. So I'm safe!

The store I bought it in got this machine today, so "new" machines in norway are still as old as april/may. So we norwegians should be pretty v1 safe for at least the rest of the year.

And I'm ready to enter the new world!
