Matrix's Problem: Not Enough Memory

It seems like you're trying to flash it with a 1meg bios image, use a 256kb instead.

256K bios? I got all 2.3, 2.4 & 2.5 evox bios bin files and they are all over 1MB. Is there really a 256K version out there? If so, what does this 1MB version for?

Everybody here is friendly and willing to help, but just sick and tired of answering the same stupid questions over and over again, specially since all the stuff can be found in either the tutorials or just by using the search function on this forum......

I got my Xodus in monday, and within an hour, it was up and running.  It took so long because I had to go get a 9v battery before I could program it.

Not sure why there are so many problems going on with it.

ok, I tried to flash Matrix on two PC and I did make sure the chip is SST 49LF020. (In fact, wmilk reported the chip is 2mb too!!) But I'm still getting the following error when I try to flash Evox 2.5. Any one having the same problem out there?

C:\Inetpub\ftproot>wmilk -c -a ffc00000 -v -p e.bin
Milksop GPL Reflasher - 0.10 - ©2002 [email protected]

CHEAPLPC on printer port at 0x378
Flash at address FFC00000 reports device ID man=BF dev=61
SST 49LF020 (2Mbit)
ERASING Device...
Erase completed
PROGRAMMING from FFC00000 -> FFCFFFFF with e.bin
File is length 1048576 bytes but device can only hold 262144 bytes

                                    ok, the matrix has a 2 Mbit chip, thats 256k. you said wmilk reported only 262144 bytes free? 256k = 262144 bytes  tongue.gif

I think 256k is 1/4 a meg. So it has less memory that a pc-boxx that has 1 meg for a bios

I think cube said it best.  It is not that people don't help out it is just when a Noobe asks a question with out doing any research on it time and time again people start to get pissed.  I know I am no expert but I read a bunch of posts and do searches and look at the tutorial before just blindly asking any quesiton that comes into my head.

                                    Yes, that basically is my point... do some research BEFORE you do something, so you don't fuck up something permenantly...
