Your sure you have the bios you are trying to flash in the same folder aswell as naming it IDENTICALY when you type the command.  Other things could be stupid little probs like flat 9v battery, worth checking.  More info would yield more educated answers.

Good Luck.

the dipswitches don't matter when using the programmer.

and i got mine working, had to try a different pc.

I read in the manual that once you connect the chip to the programmer it enters "programming mode" and the mode is independent of the switches, so I don't think that is the problem

I tried flashing the chip from two different computers and both it didn't work. I even changed the cmos settings to go through 378 but it didn't work either. I have the .dll file in the same directory and in  my windows system so thats not it.

anyone have any ideas?

What are the specs on the programming interface? Does the parallel port need to be setup a certain way? Most standard devices like this would require your parallel port to be configured for SPP. ECP and EPP may not work. The fact that you had to try a couple different computers before you got one that would work tells me you probably are having port troubles. One other thing to make note of here is that if you have printer drivers installed for this port, certain models (ecpecially Canon printers) install special print drivers that will conflict with other devices. Of course this is all speculation. Just trying to give you guys more information to use for researching this problem.

RickH, i tried all four of my modes on my pc, neither worked. And on my laptop, it had 3 for both modes (278/378) tried all of them and none of them worked, and that computer doesn't have a printer port.

If you want to flash it using Windows XP, I believe you have to install 'GiveIO Driver' first..

You can download it from here:

http://www.roentdek.com/Software

I have the same problem with sync=0f.  I installed the GiveIO Driver, and now it tells me:
CHEAPLPC on printer port at 0x378
LPC bus error - peripheral returned SYNC=0F
error getting device ID at address FFC00000
Device not supported

I think I flashed it once (used a batch file); is there any way for me to verify?  I know wmilk supports a verify option, but wmilk doesn't seem to work; I keep on getting LPC bus errors.  TIA.

I had the problems with device not supported for a couple of tries but I found out that the programmer was not plugged into the printer port fully but I am still having trouble with "LPC bus error - peripheral returned SYNC=0F" I even installed the 'GiveIO Driver' and that has not helped the situation at all...

I had the same problem you Snyper and Optimus had as well. Just try different computers, but the prog on disk, and a bios on a disk and try a friends computer/public computer/everything else in between. I finally got mine working yesterday and after that its home free getting the Matrix in.

I got a question.
Im realy new guy(have matrix myself- but not yet flashed with EVO 256 Bin)

I totally don't understand what people are doing here.
I thought to flash the Xodus i just needed to burn the EVO 2.5 to CRW
Boot in Xbox
(Via FTP first backup my C-E drive)
And then Flash it with EVO2.5
(and afterwards i would put the EVOx dash on it)

could someone explain

1/ am i right ?
2/ what are you talking about for flashing it with cable or printer from a pc ?
