Enigmah To Xodus Swap...
« on: September 23, 2002, 11:53:00 PM »

I have an xbox with an enigmah modchip installed and would like to move to the xodus to do the hd swap.. Problem is my xbox came with the enigmah preinstalled and a warranty that I dont want to void.. Any way I can disable my enigmah and install the xodus that I could cover up later should I want to use my warranty?

Well mr.x neglected to tell you that upon flashing the original bios with the Enighmah-X installed you'll overwrite the original MS stock bios.  The Exodus on the other hand would allow you to keep the stock MS bios and flash the Exodos's onboard bios chip to whatever bios release you would like.  Then if necessary you could always revert back to the stock MS bios should you have to for mod detection reasons.

Who cares if you overwrite the original xbox bios. I flashed my bios with the enigmah installed and have had no problems. I even have a copy of the original bios if I want to flash that back on. Why buy another mod chip when you already have one?

Oh, I must add that I installed an 80gb hard drive as well. Works fantastic.

Of cource it is better to have a xodus than a flashed BIOS, but then Xodus cost $60(?) too and flashing onboard is free because you all ready have a modchip installed.

I think I might just get an xodus.. But xodus or not if I want to install a different modchip or just flash bios with the enigmah I have now, I need to cut wires right?

And if that is the case, does anyone have a toutorial that covers something like this?
