My understanding was that once u plug the programming device in regardless of what mode ur in, it goes into programming mode via the parallel port not the dvd.  So the elusive 5th mode is attained by plugging the programmer in. sorted.

you may have to switch between the bios's a lot depending on xbox live and if you are going to use it.    rumors have it that live will eventually have some sort of detection but nothing for sure yet.

"due to the sharpness of the pins the Matrix will lock into the position you set with relatively little force"

Why do i have an image that the pins on the bottom side is soooooooo freaking sharp it's gonna be pressed into the solder to have it tight?  when you remove the chip, it'll prollly have the holes u poke into?

                                    Again....an assumption, but you may be right. Even if it did leave divots in the LPC points, it wont effect the functionality of your Xbox.  BUT it will make it easier to re-install the chip.
