It seems that the Xodus chip uses (most of) the same solder points as the X-ecuter. The one point that required a wire on the X-ecuter is now connected by a pin/needle on the board itself...

The numbers are from the openxbox instructions...not related to the x-ecuter or xodus.

Yes, I see what your saying. Becasue the original xodus graphic was at such a funky angle, I couldn't get it to fit perfectly. The picture just illustrates an aproximate idea of where it fits onto the motherboard.

I wonder if those "extra four" are merely "guide" pins, and not real "contact" pins?

yea, its just a clone, but it gives u the ability to flash the bois onboard which is nice, and those 4 pins are no real contact they are just for guiding.

personally id like a solder version of the x-cutor 1.1 with the ability to flash.

Well, I just ordered three of these to install on my friends' machines... hope there what they are cracked up to be.  I was going to install a PC-Bioxx (which I got two of the other day) in my friends, but I'm going to make him hold off... I think THIS is a better option for his non-technical ass.  I'm leaving soon, so he'll need to be able to take care of this himself one day.

Honestly, I think it looks like a good design and is what the Xecuter SHOULD have been.  (I honestly think you're nuts to install one of those).  I think there is going to be protection very soon that will not allow to use the LPC points... hopefully, M$ takes Sony's approach and keeps changing their hardware.  If what I have NOW works in the future, I'll be happy.

LOL seems like all of us have some dumbass buddies that want an Xbox because of what we have done to them, but we don't trust them to do it right!

Couple of friends wanted the xbox after I told them what I could do. LOL but when I told them to go fuck themselves if they thought I would install the chip for them, and that they would have to do their own backups,FTP'ing,etc. they kinda lost interest. Told them that I would put the chip in, but if I screwed it up...too goddamn bad, plus it would cost them $50 upfront in cash. Also I wanted them to sign a contract stating that they would not call me at all about it, how to do it, or any problems they have with it...LOL. Sounds harsh but you know what I mean!

Now that this mod seems to be real, maybe I'll let them know about it.
It is the X-ecuter chip though...through and through as I had said before in a few threads. Just wait a week for all the yelling and screaming to start after it hits the market and people install it in their mobos and bridge some friggin trace and blow their chip to hell. It's gonna happen...you know it!

                                    well.........you can't flash the onboard bios. You can flash the chip. If you plan to keep the chip in there forever then there's no problem. But there's no flashing the onboard bios and taking out the chip.

its not a clone at all
the way it connects is a standard LPC.

just uses different mount points (screw)

We will know what points are used when the manual is out.

its far better than any x-ecuter! plus the fact that its no solder kill every other mod. dont forget the flash from CD.
