177 US for 3 Matrix chips.

I can only think of one possible problem with this chip and huge noobs:

"Hi, yesterday I Installed the matrix chip, unfortunately i bought a star screwdriver but I only have square screws, since im out of funds because I already bought 3 xboxes (enigmah, Doh!, Messiah, Doh!, X-ecuter, Doh).  I amm screwed, is it possible to solder the screw to the chip and punch it in place with a hammer? thanks for your help".

LOL, I am egarly awaiting all the Xodus problems thread!!!

Well you see, I was using this specialized tool called a TORX DRIVER to tighten down the screw that holds the Xodus in place. All of a sudden, the TORX DRIVER slipped, and scraped accross the motherboard! It knocked 7 or 8 chips clear off!!! Can someone tell me how to fix this?

Also, my Xodus is now snapped in half! Who can I contact to have these Bastards give me a refund???

Heh, in all seriousness though, I know what a Torx screwdriver is, but I just don't have one.  Would it be very very very bad if I used a small flat-head screwdriver instead?  Seems to me that if it's a square hole, a flat-head could be used diagionally to the same effect.  Just wonderin'.

                                    Splat,

any hardware store will sell Torx screw drivers. I went to ACE Hardware and spent $3.00US (each) on a T-10 and a T-20.  Try Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.

You might strip the screw if you try using a flat-head screwdriver. It's not worth it man. Just go buy the real deal.

In the installation videos... what is that thing their holding down on the chip that gives off the light?

The LED is built onto the chip. If it is aligned correctly then I will blibk GREEN. If the chip is mis aligned it will blink RED.

So whatever that thing is that holds down the chip in the video will not be needed? Sweet!  beerchug.gif

The only thing that holds the chip down is one screw over one of the motherboard screws. During the initial installation. The woman is only using her hand to hold it down.....while she tightens the screw.
