Xbox 1.1 + Aladdin Advanced - Problems Running Alternative Software Eg

hi,

I have a Xbox V1.1 with an aladdin advanced 32 mod chip and stock harddisk (10GB) - the box boots with unleashed x (from AID 4.10), but you can't start a single programm, like XBMC, xFlash, DVD2Box... it says "loading XBMC" and then suddenly stops.

It is very stange, because I can boot the AID 4.10 form CD oder Slayer or burned xbox-games (on DVD) with no problem. Furthermore I can't ftp my xbox ... always a timeout, when receiving the file-list.

Maybe the problem is the old-bios - I don't know which one exactly, but there is a blue xbox-logo with green ™-sign and with microsoft-label below. So it is definiely no X2 or M8 bios...

The problem when uprading the bios is, that I can't run xFlash or any other flashing-tool - except Slayer Autoinstaller from CD - but  I says - "Flash write proteced". I also tried several starting variations to disable the write protection with no success so far.

Is it possible, that the reason for the freezes when starting XBMC and other software is the old bios??? I am not really sure, because I can start AID 4.10 with no problem. Furthermore unleashx dash works (from AID 4.10) but EvoX-dash doesn't (from AID 4.10).

I am already a litte nerved because the xbox does not start XBMC... or any other software.

Any help is really appreciated ...

Sounds more like problems with the HDD than the modchip or bios.

hi,

will it solve the problem, if I simply format the original XBOX HD (10gigs) on the PC or do you think that I need a new HD?

I just tested my harddisk from my other xbox - the dash started immeditely, but eg XBMC or other apps doesnt start with the other hardisk either... so I don't think, that the harddisk is the problem.

furthermore I got same facts, which are hopefully useful for solving the problem:
- kernel 1.00.5101.01
- flash 49LF020
- modchip called "alladin advanced", but with no luttace 32/64, instead there is a chip "L M4", next line says "A3 32/32" - I have no idea, whatever that is..

L2, L1, BT and D0 are connected.

I furthermore tried to reflash, but the flash is locked: with the eurasis disk i got an error.

Any ideas are VERY much appreciated.
