Cheaplcp - I Can't Program It From Winxp, But Linux Okay..wtf
« on: October 08, 2006, 02:36:00 AM »

I have this CheapLPC programmer which, until recently, has worked fine on my windows machine.

today, however, when I use greenprog or wmilk or even WinLPC, it can't open the LPT1 port.

I downloaded the lmilk source and compiled/installed it on my slackware linux server downstairs, and when I connected the same 3' parallel cable and programmer with a chip on it, it works fine.

Any ideas?  I had this issue once before and I used my roommates's winxp box and it worked.  Something must be mucked up in windows.  Any help would be appreciated.

It could of been the driver was held up. A restrat usually fixes it.

I have had issues with this before.  At one point, when I moved the greenprog exe to another diretory in windows, it stopped working with that same failure, but when I moved it back, it was good.
