Hard Drive Question Help Paulb!
« on: October 04, 2003, 05:02:00 PM »

i have read several of your posting in regards to the larger partition hard drives.. but here's my problem.. for right now i have an xbox with mech exploit..  i have the seagate 10 gig hd.. i have the f drive open with 2 gig on it.. is there anyway to repartition those drives w/out killing the box? i would like to have the e drive utilize those other 2 gigs any info you can give me would be great..

I do not think you can.  As far as I know, the c, e, x, y, and z, will only recognize up to 8 gigs.  Anything after that will be found in the F drive.

I believe it would be possible to make the e: (or c:) partition larger, but only if you've got an lba48 bios in a modchip.

If you're using a software exploit to load an lba48 bios, it shouldn't do anything that changes the partitioning - because much of the system since boot time already knows the size/location of the partitions ('standard' sizes/locations).  Changing them 'on the fly' will most likely cause corruption.
