hardware addon is the only way to do it

i suggest the X3IR or somethign similar - its a simple mod that once you have, you wont be able to live without.

Read the forums that are out there. there is one where someone took apart a remote door chime and used that to remotely turn his xbox on and off. So if you are pretty good at modding, there are lots of cheap "homebrew" ways of doing it, but the easiest is the X3IR that others mentioned.

It's the only install I do. Also why have banks you can't easily access? The Xbox should have this as standard and all mods should have an auxillary function to by-pass the wording of the DMCA concerning a devices intended purpose.
