If formatting the drive and re-installing in the past has cured it it would appear maybe the HDD is going bad.
If the problem was the bios then formatting and re-installing would never have made any difference

Thanks heaps for the help the new had drive worked fine, i just used a 30 gig one for now to see if it will work and yeah it worked

Actually i was wrong It is haveing troubles again
all i did was take it near the computer put on a skin and then moved it back
it now says bios: unkown and will not load any apps or games

i took phots of my chip while i was at it any way of posting them???

It would seem the problem now is something came adrift with the chip when you moved the xbox.
If you can post the pics of the chip it will help telling you how to sort this.
To post pictures host the image on somewhere like photobucket.
copy the image location from the host and click on IMG when posting, paste the image location into that box and it will display the pic.

going by that pic , i would redo all the lpc soldering , it could just be the pic quality , but it looks like you could have a problem with the top left hand connection

i also forgot to add when i press the open disc button or just tap the on button it tries to start up but cant so shuts off and then keeps trying untill u press off
(just thought it might help with diagnosis of my problem)

PS let me know which LPC pin you solder as this question has come up a few times and i don't remember from memory which pin it is and i know alot of people dont believe me on this one wink.gif

So by the time you take the xbox over to the tv and plug in all the cables for fine , no need to wait at all !

Yes the LPC is the row of holes in the motherboard that your chip connects to, yeah now they are soldered silver points.

ok i was wrong again, i moved it to the computer
ftp'd and made a folder in e: called music
put some music in
moved it back to tv and then again no apps will load
it says bios: unkown again
