Pinheader Spidership Install D0 Question.
« on: April 28, 2005, 10:24:00 AM »

Hi,
I have a spiderchip 1.1 and a Xbox 1.0
I had my spiderchip working fine using the "Squeeze" method with erasers, but it kept having to be readjusted.
Then a guy here at work decided to Solder the wire on for me.
He went from the tops of the pogopins to the right points on the LPC.
It just did a 3 boot frag at that point.
While checking his solder joints on the spider, 1 wire poped off.
I cant solder worth crap, so I unsoldered everything.

I should get my pinheader today. I am going to have a tech here at work solder it in for me. I wanted to know if it matters if I use the top D0, or if I have to use the alternate?

Also, I was just testing a pressure connection last night, and getting the 3boot frag also.  I looks like there might me solder touching between the top side of 2 pogo pins, but I cant tell.   I there a way to test this with a multimeter?

(Everything on xbox is fine, as it boots normal with no chip)

You can use either D0 point. get the tech thats fitting the pinheader to clean up the solder between the pins at the same time as he puts the pin header in.
