Is It Evox M8 Bios A Faulty Bios?
« on: February 15, 2005, 11:36:00 PM »

Hi i've seen several xboxes giving problems using evox m8 bios on 1.0-1.5 consoles, using most times aladdin xt mods, once 1 xkiller etc

So i dont know if evox m8 bios is a faulty bios, it hasnt enable the igr issue, and i dont know if same happens to the plus one

What do u think?

Now i have a xbox v 1.4 and it frags when playing using evox m8 on a Aladdin XT mod sst 49lf020a

See u

P.D. I fixed one upgrading the bios to xcuter 4983.06 bios

During the developement of Sunday Chip and CMA 32 I noticed some bios's tend to load harder  than others and those bios's generally ran better after running them through evotool. We are loading the date range on the SST 020A's on the Sunday chip  that are choking some of the aladdins out there so buyer beware.

There is absolutelly no problem with EvoX M8 bios
as I still still use the very first release in all versions.
I guess that the problem is on the modchips you use (SST or SST-A).

Of course, it is better to use:
- X2 4983 in v1.0-v1.5
- M8 in v1.6
because of the IGR issue...

Mind elaborating on both points?  How did you edit them in EVTool to work better and whats wrong with the aladdins?

and whats wrong with the aladdins?

You mean apart from CPLD code in XT chips that cause unstable booting with the mod enabled. timing problems relating to disabling the Flash protection in some of these and the Super aladdin Live having a success rate of booting disabled in about 5 out of 100 cases. The Super Aladdin needing L2 running to ground to enable it to boot without fragging.
Nothing really

You sure have not picked up much have you.
They are not all clones and my Aladdin installs total over 350 including all types and versions.
