Install Aladdin Xt In Always On Mode
« on: December 03, 2004, 05:20:00 PM »

I have a 1.4 motherboard that has had some damage done to it (looks like a repair or previous mod gone wrong). Works fine with a mod chip installed (currently has an Xecuter 2 working fine on it). I would like to remove this Xecuter 2 and install an Aladdin XT in alway on mode (since having a switch is useless for this board). I see that I am supposed to strap D0 to ground, but nowhere does it tell me if this is D0 on the XBOX motherboard to ground, or D0 on the Aladdin XT to ground.....which is it?

Also, do I then need to link BT to pin 2 on the XT chip aswell?

Yours, confused!

If D0 on the board is held to gnd, the modchip bios boots (actually, i believe it is actually keeping the stock bios from booting, but the end result is the same)

I tie D0 on the xbox mobo AND D0 on the Aladdin AND BT on the Aladdin all to ground.

No! Tie only the "D0 on motherboard" and "BT on Aladdin XT" to ground for permanent on.
