Why Choose Others Over Aladdin?

Striker, could you post pics of the two types of chips you received? I just placed my order and need to know exactly how many pin headers and pin sockets I need to find.
Thanks.

i want to but my dad is on vacation and got the digital camera with him.
he'll be back tomorrow, so you'll have to wait...

but i can tell you this:

Duox 2 comes with a female and male pinheader, 1 for chip, 1 for xbox.
You just need some kynar wire for D0 and BT. Thats it.

The free alladdin you get with modzone comes with nothing, just the chip.
You can see a pic of a similar chip in my other thread. If you dont want to quicksolder it in you need a male and female pinheader for EVERY chip. And again you need kynar wire to solder D0, BT, L1 and L2.

Hope that clears things, if not i'll post some pics tomorrow night (cet).

the type of pin-head you're looking is straight pin-head 2.54 mm pitch male connector and female socket.

electronics distributors
cpc/farnell - uk - male #1 (CN01054) male #2 (CN00873) female
elfa.se - swedish - male (43-704-33) female (43-708-13)

mod sites
llamma.com - male
modchipman.com - male
baldbouncer.co.uk - male
networkboy - female and male
cheapmod.com - male and female set

these are what i could find, i've personally bought from modchipman.com and elfa.se and considering them as trusted..

Striker, can you clear this up... Do you get a female socket header with the duox? And if you do are they already soldered onto the chip?

The ModZone site states that the LED blinks when it is in operation.  Does this mean that the LED is constantly blinking?  Is there any way of disabling the blinking (I've not tried these chips yet)?  Thanks.

Is the free Aladdin chip still going on through Modzone?  I've tried to place an order for 5 DUO X2s, but now all it says is that I would get 1 free Duo X2 instead.  Did I miss the free Aladdin special offer?

Just wondering folks....Either way, it's all good!

Thanks.
