If the LED is half one colour and half another it would usually indicate damage to the resistor that the L1 wire is attached to. If it is removed you get half the led lit so may be the weird colours are related to that

According to how the tool works you should be able to change the the power lED colour. I have now tried it by flashing a modified Bios to a blank SST. I put it in the Aladdin socket but it made no difference to the LED.
I maybe did something wrong not sure. I will keep having a play with it to see. Managed to change the colour of the logo though.

very bizarre. I do have an idea though. my LED changes from green to orange(flickering of course) with HD access, what about yours? red/green? orange/green? orange/red?

If this is the case, I wonder if L2 is the culprit?
