Yes of course you can flash it with whatever bios you like.

An Xbox-modchip is like the harddrive in your computer, and the bios is like your operating system. The OS does everything and doesn't care which type of harddrive it's loaded from.

Here is a good tutorial on flashing if you need it.

Maybe a dumb question, but when i just lay it on, it can move while moving the xbox. So how do i attach this ?

You can solder it right on the motherboard but I don't recommend it.
It may be difficult to remove it later on.

Personnally, I soldered small (3/4") skinned wires straight ahead in the motherboard holes, building a header. Then, I placed the modchip in the header and soldered it 5/8" above the motherboard.

Hope this helps...

To be able to flash, you need to short those to adjacent pads...

But I recommend to remove the short after flashing to protect your modchip from malicious programs that can erase it...

Damn right. I do not, I repeat do not recommend to anybody to solder the chip directly over pads as its original design/intention. If you have a prob with the chip or have a short under the pads.....Good luck in removing the chip, you will destroy Xbox lPC pads from force and heat.

Solder wires to holes or better still use a header post and socket. I thought I would make this clear to anybody as it happened to me and Its very tough taking the chip off soldered directly in

I installed the AppleX-V, and it works great. The only problem is that the original bios won't load when I power on by the eject button, the orange logo appears both ways.

What could be wrong?

Flash the AppleX V using EvoX dashboard while chip is soldered to LPC port.
If you are using EvoX make sure you have removed all the "#" in the evox.ini file.

here is a sample of the file

Also be sure that the flash pins on the modchip are bridged or shorted together to enable the full flashing mode. Try flashing with Executer 2 4977
The Alladin uses the 49lf020 I guess Applex will be the same (they smudge it off)
