ps, this does require a soldering god, if you cant solder a v3 ps2 without trouble, then dont try this at home.

I solder stuff like this for a living. . .
Not only does it require a "soldering god" as you put it, it also requires a truely good iron, not some $5 piece of crap.
Expect to pay at least $200.00 for a decent iron (more like $400-600)

For me is very very important...if you want to make a tutorial make it without problems...the only things is that i don't want everything...all greetings must go to "ROMEO"... romeo.altervista.org

Only this...beacause is him that discover the new point for LFRAME  jester.gif  jester.gif

WTF! $200.00 for an iron...exactly how small is this connection?...I imagine that you just scrape the top with a razor until u see a good connection then pre-tin and apply  the wire?

I've done lot's of ps2 mods...just dunno why you need a special iron for this task.

All i have on hand is a v1.0 and yes i know i dont need this mod for this ver xbox...but i examine the chip and can see the small via beneith the surface. So if say i got a ver.1.5 tommorow i could install a cheapmod ...providing i connect the LFrame via...3.3v...and Ground to the lpc?

I just made this connection using a chemtronics  overcoat pen ultra fine tip and  a conductive pen fine tip.  It works perfect smile.gif resistance is minimal and  it is a perm connection if you use overcoat pen to go over contact. and there free smile.gif

well so do i, and you certianly dont need a $200 iron for this rolleyes.gif  i work with surface mount components every hour that i work, and i use nothing more than a 50watt wellar iron - the most reliable irons around. And, concidering the boards and components i work with are worth ten times that of any xbox, i can tell you right now that your opinion is rediculous to say the least.

A good discovery. But there is not much you can do with a "micro via". Just use Aladdin Advance or whatever, it saves your time and maybe a Xbox.

its a homebrew thing looks like the cheapmods back in bizz-niss i knew i should of made a programmer wink.gif time to get some sst's comp.gif

thanks Andry and Romeo for the gift.gif

http://romeo.altervista.org

and the whole $$££$ iron thing is stupid if u want heat control thats all,.and theres is no solderin gods theres (or something like below

solderin newbie = crap,. made links etc
solderin ghetto  = works but dont look good
solderin  pro      = no links, works, looks good, always dose the link check etc etc U know!
solderin gods     = a fool on a ego trip

its ppl that say u have to be a solderin god bla bla bla that stops newbies form pickin up the iron in the 1st place!!!!!
