Ah that is one of the many cheapmod clones, 256k, should be flashable, is there any little jumpers on the board at all?

no jumpers on the modchip board i'm trying to flash it thur evo dash 3921
3 wire connection

currently have EVOX D.6 bios on it wanna up it to M7

i don't know what this dude did but it suckz i figure he did it so i'd have to buy crap off him instead of getting it on my own?

OK, you've definitely got a cheapmod, but most cheapmods only have 1 wire, you claim yours has 3.  Can you describe where each of the wires go to/from?

It sounds to me like your chip is a cheapmod fitted with an IC that allows you to enable/disable the chip, and possible enable/disable flash protection using the Power and Eject buttons of your Xbox.  Try booting your Xbox by doing each of the following, and take note of what happens each time.  I'll use P for Power button, and E for Eject button.

1.  Tap P
2.  Tap E
3.  Hold P for 1-2 secs
4.  Hold E for 1-2 secs
5.  Hold both P and E for 1-2 secs
6.  Hold P for about 6 secs
7.  Hold E for about 6 secs
8.  Hold both E and P for about 6 secs

I guessing that one of the above will boot your Xbox with the chip disabled, and another one will boot the Xbox with the chip in Flashable mode.  Try flashing after trying each of the above boot methods.

Let me know how you go.

i can send u a pic of my motherboard if u like

3 wire a black (guess it's ground)

a red (power)

and a blue (???)

not sure but i can open it up and let u know if that doesn't help

i can boot the xbox disabled by by holding the power button down for 3 secs
and it brings me to the MS dash

if i just tap the xbox power or eject it will boot in chip mode i still locks up when i try to flash the bios:

when flashing thur EVOX bios flash option

manfufactures ID bf Device ID 61
Flash Type SST-49LF020
press Y to flash

it hangs at erasing

reboot no damage or change

it just won't let me flash it

also when i try to flash the ip address that i have setup up 192.168.1.25 changes to
16.91.4.0

Yes, IP behaviour is normal.

So, you tried booting with all of the combinations I suggested, and none of them allowed you to flash?

OK, then you might actually have to do some re-wiring to enable flashing.  Use either of the 2 diagrams below:

ok i compared a system that has the same chip that i have but instead of 2 chips it has one chip and is set up with  a switch to enabe a chip mode and ragular mode (ms dashboard) i think the extra chip on my board is just for the LED colors that i get on my eject button if anyone wants a pic of the setup on the motherboard email me and i will email them the pics

i was able to pull my chip out and pop  it on his xbox chip  and flash my bios
but now i can't boot up in non chip mode my msdashboard won't boot up i get the contact ms message screeen for service
i wanna be able to flash my bios with out having to bug someone to open up there xbox and use there system to flash my bios ?
plus i need to figure out how to fix my MS dash board so i can boot up in regular mode so i can play regular xbox games mode

also i noticed a cut on my mod chip on the other side that the chip is snapped into i believe it's the 7 and 8 chip so i'm wondering if i solder this cut back together i can flash on my chip i don't want to install a switch i just want to enable the flash bios option

anybody ur help is great full
