No Video + No Red/green After Some Reboots
« on: March 22, 2003, 02:32:00 PM »

I have installed an aladdin chip (Evox D.6) in my 1.0 Xbox, when it have been on for a while and I try to restart it with the chip activated it act strange.

First reboot:
No video or sound, but green light and it read from HDD.

Second reboot:
No video or sound, no green/red light, a beep. It continues like this if I reboot it again.

If I leave it off for a while OR switch back to original BIOS it acts normal again.

Any ideas about where too look for a error? To me it sounds like a overheat problem somewhere, but it seems strange that it boots with the original (v 1.0) BIOS.

i had the same sort of problem with my X2L, i just messing around with it to see what could fix it, so i turned off the chip and put the origonal hdd back in and it booted fine and then i turned on the mod and put the bigger hdd in and it seems to be working fine since then. didnt work if i didnt turn off the chip when i switched the drives but seemed to work when the chip was off after changin the hdds.
good luck
