2 Lpc's Shortcutted

Hello (first post :)

I have an Apple-X3 modchip with Executor2 bios. Installed the chip, but xbox reboots couple of times and then flashes red/green. No video, audio or eject. I just tested the lpc holes. Is it normal that to of those lpc holes are connected to each other. When you look at the mobo from front, they are third and fifth hole from the right side row.

And another question. It said somewhere that the wires connecting to the lpc's should not be over 5cm. I have over 10cm, is that a problem? :P

Yeah I would like to know this too.
I have now build in 5 LPC 2.0 for friends and I never had a problem.
And now I have I buy prepared wires all about 10cm long and the box don't want start.
Is this really the problem ? Because on the other boxes I have used under 3cm wires.

ThX

What I mean is that when i test the modchip connection with a multimeter (or what ever that thing is :), I get a "connection detected *beep*" between two of the lpc points. This happened even when I desoldered the wire of from the other! So now I'm wondering is there supposed to be a connection? In this picture http://www.gamefreax.de/gamefreax/modchips...XBox/lpcmod.jpg they are the D and G points. (That is not my modchip diagram thou).

I'm puzzled. Maybe I should try to shorten the wires.

Thanks, I really needed that info. :)

I resoldered the chip with about 4cm wires, and it still doesn't work! :(
It's the same 3 reboot, green/red flashing thing. Now I'm going to
add a switch to the d0 to make sure that my whole Xbox isn't broken now...

if you can reflash the chip, try that.  Or, if you have another chip, try that one instead...its possible there was a bad flash on your chip...or it was never flashed at all.

I soldered the switch to the d0 wire, and at "off" position the MS dashboard loads up just fine. I'm glad I didn't break my console. Unfortunately I have no hardware to flash the chip. Still get the green/ref flashy thing...

Well, I finally cracked it! It so happens that the modchips pcb was crooked and faulty. Two of the soldering holes didn't actually connect the chip, so I had to solder the wires directly to the chips legs. Now my box boots EvoX nicely :).
