Anyone Else Ran Into To This.....
« on: March 04, 2003, 06:10:00 AM »

I successfully installed an Xecuter 2pro, with latest evox dash and bios last night.

Everything works great except one thing....

I get intermittent hangs on boot.
It boots, shows the blob, then the xbox logo w/xecuter tag underneath, then just HANGS.

Happens about 1 out of every 3 boots.
A reboot always resolves the problem but I am wondering if the problem is normal or serious, and if there is something I can do  to resolve it.

btw- has anyone else ran into this?
Thanks -

HMMMM

Mine hasnt rebooted on me yet, but again I have only had it in one night.

Blueinfinity can you answer this for me.....

Last night I replaced my orig. HDD with a 80gb Seagate. Works great. But I want to get my save games and music tacks off my old drive.
What is the best way to go about that?
Should I load evox on my original HDD and ftp to it? If so would I just copy the data into its respective directories on the new HDD?

thanks for your quick response!

I just pulled my orig. HDD out without backing up.
I dont have anything except original data on the original HDD.
My 80gb is the only drive I have loaded evox onto so far.

So  I still have my orig.HDD fully intact, just wondering if I need to load evox on it to back it up or what.

Should backup using FTP.

So Just place the original drive in the Xbox again. Burn EvoX (edit evox.ini first) on a CDRW/DVDR(W) and load it up.
Connect to the Xbox from a PC (using eg. FlashFXP) and backup the C and E drive. (It's good to keep these backups just in case).
Place your new drive back in the Xbox and connect to it again and transfer the C and E drive to this drive.
Then you should have all your saves.

Hey thanks uwretch!

Thats exactly what I need to know.

So I just burn the evox dash to an CDRW to boot to it, I dont need to install it on the orig. HDD to ftp to it?

Also DO I just overwrite everything on the C: and E: in my new drive with the contents of my old?

here are a few details to consider:
I have LIVE on my original HDD....will that copy?

I have XBMP and several other apps installed on my new HDD....will they stay intact?

THanks alot for your help man.

Yeah I know man. I went the quick route and used Slayers install.

I have 3 working backup games and about 500 mbs of Mp3s, and a couple of flicks on there already(on F: drive). Everything is working great I just wanna put my old save data back on and maybe my audio tracks.

also - I have it dual booting perfectly between evox and the orig. dash.

your ribbin cable is not getting contact correctly. try leaving the top of the xbox off and see what happends. if you get a different result then you know what up. if this is the case. give the ribbin cable some slack on the mod chip.

Try to re-flash the bios, and check all your connections.

i have a similar problem.
sometimes it just hangs on the 'X' screen where 'xecuter2' should appear.
other times it takes ages to boot up, while other times i switch on my xbox then my tv and evox is allready loaded (ie sometimes it loads quick)

could it be a bad solder job? ive also tried flashing bios, several times, same problem.
