Controller Ports - Please Help!
« on: September 27, 2003, 05:09:00 AM »

The controller ports arent working on my box. The box has got an xecuter 2.2 pro which has been succesfully installed. I have taken the daughter board out of the xbox and put it into a friends xbox and it worked fine so there cant be a problem with the daugther board. I also borrowed some usb ports from my friends xbox which work fine, but in my xbox still cause there to be no response. I havent really got any more ideas on what to try, im assuming that the connection between the daughter board and the motherboard isnt close enough or isnt connected properly? and as i have tried my daughter board on my friends xbox i assume that the problem must be with the ports on the motherboard.
The xbox boots fine and gets to the system clock but there is no responce from any of the controllers ive tested it with - 2 MS and 1 gamester controller. The gamester controller has a power LED on it which
is alight no matter which port you put it in.

I dont know what esle to try any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Controller Ports - Please Help!
« Reply #1 on: October 06, 2003, 05:44:00 PM »

i need some help as well. I did the controller power button mod on controller port 1. Everything is fine, but i must have bumped something or messed something up while i was doing it, because controller port 4 stopped working. Ports 1, 2, and 3 are just fine. I checked the cables and plugs and they are plugged in and secure. Any idea on what to do?

btw, i have another xbox with a busted power supply. The power supply was ordered, but since the xbox will probably be used only as a dvd player in another room, i might just switch the controller plugs. But i would rather try fix the one i have before i do that.
