Openxbox Problems....

Are you connecting your printer cable to the ribbon cable that lik-sang provided?  Also, try clicking on compatibility mode as well in BioXXFlasher, and try a dfferent version of it.   And if all else fails double check your connections.

Yeah I am connecting the printer cable to the ribbon cable that lik-sang provided. I clicked on compatibility mode as well and no luck. I have tried versions 1.2. and 1.3 and there any other programs? Is this all I can do before I have to check the connections?

There's nothing obvious from the information you've given.
When the chip is hooked up correctly, it works.
I've heard of no "this is what to do if it doesn't work at all" cases.
All anybody can say is; check it all again.

Make sure..

1. You can load an original game by hitting the eject button to turn on the xbox.

2. When you use the power button to turn on the xbox , you should see the xbox blink orange or red a couple of times then it kicks you too the dashboard. Try to load an original game now, it shouldnt load..Of course this is all done while the openxbox is EMPTY.

3. Make sure the xbox is on when you load up the flashing program smile.gif

Also, double check to make sure there are no solder splashes on the motherboard.  I have read numerous posts about people not being able to flash, but they found a tiny bit of solder on the motherboard.  Good luck!!

Are you getting the "No BioXX Board Found" error in BioXX Flasher ? Then see my thread here

Next, hook up the ribbon cable to the OpenXbox and the PC Parallel cable to the connector on the other side of the ribbon cable. Now get a continuity tester and check the continuity between the OpenXbox parallel connector pins and the PC parallel cable pins. Pin# 1 of OpenXbox should connect to Pin# 1 of the PC parallel cable, Pin# 2 to Pin# 2 and so on.

I will bet a nickel this is your problem  tongue.gif

Good Luck !  cool.gif

If your openxbox is empty and u boot using the power button then it should just kick you to the dashboard/setting screen..And wont boot any games original or backups cuz it has no bios. I'm not sure which pin is it...

Hmmm........... What is exactly supposed to happen after you install and boot up using the power button?

When I boot up using the power button I get the normal MS dashboard and all of my original games load fine??!!

Do a full erase on your disc.  Extract the EvolutionX contents, then use Xiso tool kit to make those files into an Xbox Iso.  Burn that new Iso.  Good luck!

Am I getting closer?

                                    It doesn't sound like it.
The flash program on the PC needs to be able to see the openxbox.
You can then flash it with a BIOS.
Burning stuff to CDs is a waste of time at this point.
You need to get your PC to flash the BIOS.
