Matrix Shipping Info From Eb2k
« on: September 25, 2002, 11:24:00 AM »

Hmm ... I can swear at one point their website (the Matrix page) clearly said "Credit Cards will not be charged before shipment" ... but now they seem to  have removed that  mad.gif

Not that I am planning to order one from them, but it just goes to show that their business practices haven't changed much. This is the same business practice that have helped them earn these "wonderful" ratings

I thought it was common practice for someone to not charge your credit card until your item was ready to ship.  I've got the exact date and time they charged my card...they got their money, now I want my chip.  I'll be interested to see if Extreme Mods gets the Matrix chip in early next week (as indicated on their page).  I may cancel with EB2K and go with Extreme Mods...and concerning Extreme Mods, I thought Easybuy was the "exclusive" reseller of the Matrix chip???  What's been the experience(s) with Extreme Mods, assuming they get these in before I get my chip from EB2K?

Common practice, yes.  Universal, no.  I pre-ordered the Canadian 3-disc version of Brotherhood of the Wolf from DVDSoon in Canada last month and they charged my CC immediately.  But I'd seen messages from others that have used DVDSoon, so I didn't worry about it.  Got email today that it shipped, can't wait for it! smile.gif

I'd ordered a few chips from Easybuy last month and they didn't pre-charge me, which is good because I ended up cancelling my order and ordering from Lik Sang.

They are. If ExtremeMods is going to sell Matrix chips, they are getting them directly from EB2k.

needless to say, I don't have a warm, fuzzy feeling about EB2K right now, and it seems a lot of other folks don't either.  Today was the second time I talked to them, and I've gotten two COMPLETELY different stories.  I called them Monday prior to ordering...the CSR I spoke to then said to place my order on the web, and that the chips would ship Wednesday.  She did NOT say, place your order on the web and the PREORDERS will ship Wednesday.  I won't believe they are shipping until someone posts a picture of one in their hands...

And on the ExtremeMods front....interesting to say the least.  I wonder how many of those "preorder" chips are headed to them, and how many of us will not get our chip to do that seemingly large order.  Funnier yet, how many of us will cancel the EB2K order IF (BIG IF) ExtemeMods gets their supply in early next week....we're still getting product that came from the same place, just having to play the system to get it!

Some info about the availability of this chip...

I live in Montreal and eb2k has an office here, so i went there monday to buy a matrix chip, but the guy told they won't have the chip until at least next monday, and he wasn't even sure about that. I don't know if they ship those chips from Montreal, but if they do, they don't have it in stock yet.

well they probably will only ship from their 2 locations...

NY or CAN

NY is just a PO BOX however.

Heh and I am one that ordered sunday and did it overnight.
Still 24hours to ship lol  yeah right.  We will see they have till tomorrow to start shipping EVERYTHING .

If they do not ship tomorrow (thursday) they have NO MORE Excuses .
they had 2 ways of excusing themselves from shipping ...
1. Fiday late night add went up says 48hours to ship.
Most figure that means PAY FOR IT .. Once it is accepted takes UP TO 2 days to get shipping .. however..
2. after complaints from people not getting info on monday because that is 48 hours or more past friday...(some do have cards charged) ... easybuy makes it seem that ... 48 hour ship meant from next business day which would have been monday...to wednesday..so THURSDAY is last day for whatever 48 hour bullsh*t they want to say.

So far it has been right... last night they changed it to 24hours.  so tomorrow will tell.  lol you probably will get your chip before you get the tracking info lol

Tried to call for over a hour this morning, nothing but busy signals.  However, I did see on the EB2K forums that someone talked to them and they said it would be ready Monday!  MONDAY...yep, that's 24 hours from this past Monday when they said "ships in 24 hours".

Let's face it, we've all been mis-lead...there is no Matrix, so break out the soldering irons again and order the PC-BioXX....

It just keeps getting more interesting.  Just for grins, I contacted the fine folks at Extreme-mods, asking when they thought they may be able to offer the Matrix/Xodus chip for sale.  And the response (edited just to be safe)....

Unfortunately, since Easybuy is the sole distributor, we are waiting to get the chips from them. {Edited} We are waiting for proof they do actually have working chips in stock before we pay them. So far it seems they do not even have them in stock yet. So we are waiting, along with every one else, to see what's gonna happen next. Thank you.

I think this tells us a lot, not even another reseller knows anything, and if I were Easybuy, I'd certainly try to take care of my large customers by giving them information.  What to do, what to do...do I cancel with Easybuy, and put my faith in Extreme Mods, letting them deal with Easybuy?  Seems the safest bet right now....

Xobx you have to be the most annoying poster I have ever seen.  My God how many times do you think you need to call the people at EB2K?  Trust me when they have the product and are ready to ship it they will ship it.  If I worked at EB2K I think I would try to find your order and cancel the damn thing.  I am sure there is something productive you can do with your life while you wait for the chip (productive does not equal calling EB2K nor does it include posting in these forums).  Try a library, a movie, or a girl oh wait that one probably isn't possible.

Well, gee, it's obvious that you've never sunk hard earned cash into a product, then. If I spent $60+ on a modchip (which they took out of _my_ bank account/credit card before it was shipped), and they said it was supposed to ship yesterday/last week/etc, I'd be harrassing the shit out of 'em too. I mean, what if this shit is all fake? it wouldn't be too hard or too much to construct a 'decoy' chip that blinks when it makes the right connections (like what you see in the vid clip... I'm not saying I think it's fake, but it is a possibility). If you think that they're legit because they've been around so and so long, think again.... I'm sure you've heard all about the various faiscos that Hacker's Hardware is involved in, and they've been around for a little bit.
To break it down, I don't blame anyone for calling 'em up and harrassing 'em. I mean, what do you expect, people to just roll over and let 'em take their money without anything in return? That's what the Church is for. =-)

Agreed, Kurto2021.  The hostility towards easybuy is very unjustified now.  No company is perfect.  Some companies are better than others, but easybuy isn't going to be ripping people off with this product.   Things can and do change and self-imposed deadlines are never quite solid for any company.

Nintendo would be out of business if people reacted so harshly to them for their delays.

Dude you are out of line....He can and should call those idiots as many time as needed and untill they tell people what the F is going on with their orders...

We were all told 48hours and now it STILL SAYS 24hours....If you dont want to hear complaints dont read the posts with Xodus/Matrix...

Now go back to answering  your phone at EasyBuy because you sure sound like one of them

First of all, I have called Easybuy a total of TWO times, which I don't think accounts to harrassment, and probably in actuality isn't enough!  Secondly, with a @$180 charge on my credit card, I think I have every right to be upset, just as everyone else who's ordered does.  I was simply posting the information that I had been able to gather, that it appeared from other posts, folks weren't getting.  I thought that was one function of a forum...sharing information with others.
