I used 30AWG Kynar at about 12-15 inches. This way I could route the socketed chip up behind the hard drive.Worked great....

what was the ns of your chip , I think the wire plays a major factor in this and alot of people got working setups. but the wire is making it to hard for the xbox to get the full signal

I used 30 awg kynar wire as well, all wires less than 4 inches, power is 1.5 inches and ground is 1.5 inches.
