Doubt it, the chip runs the code when booted which makes it be all cool and stuff. If you have pretty good soldering skills, open it up, its not that hard, the home made mod is easy, and if you fuxxor it up... goto walmart, buy a new one, return it with fucked up xbox, and tell them "I made a decision not to open the xbox and return it because it does not fulfill my gaming needs."
