yes , you need the DVD remote to watch DVDmovies on xbox. (it install the drivers , so without the remote it's impossible to watch DVDmovies).

We might have a software solution for this problem soon , but for now you still need the remote.

I wouldnt wait,I dont think you will ever see this solution.If you have enough money to buy a mod chip just buy the remote.Buy a used one for $20 if $30 is too much.

Yeah, in case some programmer out there is wondering about working on this - DON'T. It's not worth the time and effort (and me waiting) for a solution that can be accomplished easily.

I'd say the number one solution for xbox programmers is to make a program that browses divx files on a disc, and the program would be stored on the hard drive. That's #1 on my wishlist. Could be cause I have a LOT of movies on disc...

yes you can use a prog on a modifed box to play your movies. DVDx2.
