I have to agree.
Evox Doesn't measure the GPU temp.
It might be running a few degree's warmer without a fan and you wouldn't know it.
In fact, it could be Much warmer, you just don't know.

The thermo cut off in the xbox is for only the CPU I think, Not the GPU.

Didn't the first test xboxs have the heat sink instead of the fan on the gpu?  I'm sure that I've seen them on like that in the pictures for the thermal compound tuts.

i like looking at the mods, and am going to add a 70/80mm reeeel quiet fan, add a heatsink to the mxpc (?) chip cos they can burn out and possibly replace thermal compound if its not too hard...
although id never personally turn my xbox into a mini vegas,  i like practical mods like cooling and noise reduction (if i win the lottery i might even add mini laptop hardisk under DVD so i can play live and have loads of apps and stuff!

I ordered my zalman yesterday, can't wait to install it.

I do have one question. The writer of the tutorial said, the zalman heatsink will not cover the entire gpu chip. Will this have a negative effect on the cooling part of the gpu or isn't it that important. Cause when i look at the pictures of the original gpu heatsink it covers the gpu chip entirely...
