Do you mean to upgrade the firmware for Xbox Phillips DVD drive?Or is it a standard PC DVD drive?

I understand the logic...you'd have to hack the firmware such that it would be a sort of hybrid of the Xbox Philips firmware and a PC Philips firmware.  Both reference drives would have to use the same chipset.

I'm not sure you guys understand how difficult this would be, however...

The philips firmware from #xbins is simply THE ORIGINAL xbox philips dvd firmware.

Yeah, it's not some magical firmware that lets your stock philips read more media, it's the same firmware that's in there right now, so flashing it with the downloaded firware will have no effect.
