doesn't anybody remember before the xbox even came out, it was advertised to play cdr/w and NOT cd-r?  so that means if you got a samsung that plays cd-r it's a perk and nothing more. not a RIGHT. so give up.  you can't argue that.

first of all, nobody except millionaires have dvd burners, and dvd burners are too slow, not worth buying till they hit about 16X. Second of all, as long as you have a big hard drive in the xbox, you dont need it to read cdrs. Just copy your Games/MP3/Videos to its hd and you are fine. I got a 30GB Quantum Fireball in it and its doing fine

Last time I checked my bank account I believe it said I had $ 0.82, If this is an error please inform me where the other $ 999,999,998.18 is.

I personally have a 4x $189 wonder that sure doesnt seem that slow to me when it is putting 4.37 gb of info on the disk. The media for it is coming down now you can get them for about 1$ a piece so I think it was a good investment.

It's pretty well known in the xbox community that Thomsons have a very *short* lifespan, often less than a year - no matter what the MS tech support people say, they cannot argue that these drives are equal, either in performance or lifespan.

I have a Thomson drive in my box and have yet to have a problem with it either. I must be one of the few. The box is a v1.0 so its been around for sometime beerchug.gif

1. Go cut some grass or make some hamburgers for some cash.
2. Jump on Ebay and buy a Samsung... ie http://cgi.ebay.com/...&category=20385
3. Quit your damn whining...

Or you can go give a lawyer a few hundered dollars to go file that big bad threatening lawsuit so a judge can laugh at you...
