Changing from widescreen back to normal video got it to work on my PAL xbox.

Well copying the backup from my roomates box over to mine ended up working.  So I have no idea why it wasn't working before because he uses the same backup program that I do.  Oh well, at least it works now.

well i tried the evox method and i had no luck
i changed the setting in avalaunch and had no luck
the hdd fix i saw ont he newsgroups was an incomplete file so that wouldn't work. i found some fix but the xbe was the same size as every other xbe i have seen for this game.
anyone have any idea?

i have a ntsc xbox version 1.1 and xecuter 2.3b modchip

Have you tried complex tools?  I have seen this backed up without issue on a v1.0, v1.1, and v1.2+ with complex tools.  All NTSC

Hey all...

I just bought this game (NTSC game, NTSC xbox, the Halo one from around a year ago, sorry dont know version, w/ 2.6 x-ecuter installed) and am still having troubles making a backup DVD-R (I have the stock HDD). I obtained the "fixed" default.xbe, it didn't make a difference at all. I obtained the region patch, applied it, didn't make a difference at all. I only have XBMC on my xbox at the moment, but from what I can tell the evox region change thing doesn't have a really high sucess rate (should I install it and try it anyways?). Thanks for the help.

Download Slayers Auto Installer to get the latest software for you xbox. As I have this installed and it works fine after the region patch. However my mate has an older version of evo X and Monkey ball still wouldn't work with the patch. He uploded the latest software from the auto installer and it works fine now!

FTP'ed it over again, JUST did the region patch, no luck. Gets the same results as 2 (It loads, gets to the start screen, after pushing start the screen goes black freezes). above.

I'm thinking about screwing with the eeprom, however (coming from a semi-noob, I have no idea what it is) I've heard that it's not really something you want to mess with too much. Will changing anything on it effect my Xbox Live? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just wondering - my SMBD backup will load, get to the start screen, and then when I press start it will go to a black screen and hang there. Is this the same problem everyone else is having or is everyone else's backups just not loading period?

I finally got it working. NTSC xbox. evox. It would just freeze at the evolutionx logo when loading. My solution was turning off in game reset in the evox settings. Someone mentioned this earlier and I finally tried it and it worked. It was an option almost at the bottom of the settings screen. Make sure to select save and exit after you make the change. This was driving me crazy, so I hope this helps someone...

By the way, are you talking about a straight backup or a patched backup working? I actually haven't burned a DVD that's just a straight backup of the game yet, maybe I should try that...

May I ask you guys who got it working if it was a straight copy of the game or did it have that region patch? And what version of evox are you using? thanks.
