Super Monkey Ball Cant Play Back Up?
« Reply #15 on: March 19, 2005, 08:14:00 AM »

CODE
Section "Games"
{
AutoAddItem "e:\games\"
AutoAddItem "f:\games\"
AutoAddItem "f:\hddloader\"
Item "Super MonkeyBall Deluxe","f:\Games\SuperMonkeyBallDX\default1.xbe",ID_Reg_NA

Add the underlined line into your evox.ini to force the game to always launch as USA region, without changing the settings each time.
I also renamed xbe to default1.xbe to get round the evox xbe autoscan, as the game would then be listed twice.  You could always just leave it as default.xbe and move the game to a different location.
Just change f:\games etc to where ever your monkeyball is stored

EDIT can't get formatting to work.  Add in the line that starts with item and ends with ID_Reg_NA

Yeah, I am having the same problems...
I have tried all the combinations of screen settings (letterbox, normal) and video modes (auto, default etc.) and I either get a black screen or sent back to the dashboard. :(
(My XBox is set to NTSC as it is usually in progressive scan mode).

Well heres something strange, i have 2 xbox's a v1.1, and a crystal v1.6 xbox.
Both xbox's have the exact same soft mod installed, the exact same dash, and the exact same bios.

I also have both xbox's set up the exact same.

On my v1.6 xbox when i go to run the game from hdd it just resets back to the dash, but on my v1.1 it runs perfect from the hdd.
So it leads me to believe that maybe its something got to do with newer xbox's?, or why else would it run on my v1.1 and not on my v1.6?.

Hi All,

Had the same problems with game returning to dash.

I am running V1.6 Xbox, Xecuter 3 - V3029 and Team UIX Dash.

I tried a program called Enigma Video Switch, changed setting to NTSC and exited program using both triggers and white button to return to dash.
I can play monkey ball now either from DVD or HDD without any problems.

Works with setting on widescreen, letterbox and normal with PAL60 enabled or disabled.

Hope this helps.

It seems that PAL users are having better luck with this one than the NTSC kiddos.

This is pretty random (believe me I was frustrated), but the way I was finally able to get this working on an NTSC box was to run the Enigmah Video Mode disc, switch the display to PAL, reset, and run it again and set it to NTSC and reset. For whatever reason it started working after that.

I used Complex Tools, worked fine.  If dvd2xbox doesn't do the job, Complex Tools always saves the day.  Between the two I have not ran into a game I could not backup.

Sorry if this is a noobish Q-

Will it work off of a burnt DVD-R or is it not just a problem with HDDs? Thanks.

Mine wouldn't work on my NTSC box under either circumstance until doing what I described above.

anticrap1234, did you try my steps?
