Leisure Suit Larry Hdd Fix

Let me just start out by saying this was one hell of an acl file to crack and to get working properly and has been very time consuming to say the least. In fact, it took me all afternoon and has already been submitted to WiSo to be put in the next release of dvd2xbox 0.6.0.(whenever that will be  biggrin.gif ). Tested it myself on the retail version on Leisure Suit Larry(NTSC) using dvd2xbox 0.5.9. and works like a charm. So without futher adieu. Enjoy.

edit: please goto page three of this thead to get the new acl. it also uncensors the game! whoo hooo

Do you have the deletions for it yet? when I pick it up on Tuesday, I want to be able to delete the unnecessary files from it when I back it up on my Xbox.

no, not yet sorry. i didn't take into consideration deleting any of the files simply because is best kept the way it is. the game is f***ing hilarious.

Copy the text from AgentEB's post and paste into Notepad.

Save the file as 56550031.acl.

Follow the instructions here for how to process the ACL on the Xbox.

i just got my copy today and tried to back it up to my hard drive and got that message.  So i took this acl to it and it fixed it (MUCH PROPS AGENTEB!!)  But i'm curious as to why and how this game had this little extra protection.  Is this going to start poping up in more game? Like Halo 2 or something?  And i just checked xbins and i didnt see dvd2xbox6.0 on there, only 5.9 so when is this version going to be released if it already hasnt been?

hey, i'm glad it works for everyone. spent a lot of time just getting it to work right LOL. not sure why they added that protection into the game as most games don't have any at all anymore. i guess they think it's futile attempt cause it gets fixed within one or two days of being released. i'm quite positive halo 2 is going to have some sort of protection that m$ is going to slap us with. of course they are going to protect their best selling console game. as for dvd2xbox 0.6.0., it hasn't been released yet cause WiSo's scrabbling for time to work on it. but for those who don't know how to use the acl file or aren't  familiar with hex editing, wait for the next release of dvd2xbox. as for uncensoring the nudity in the game. this is how

go into your leisure suit larry folder of your xbox and find the file

AppInit.JAM

its located in the subfolders of /Data/JamFiles/Xbox/AppInit.JAM

open it with your favorite hex editor. i use hex workshop 4.22. and do a text string search for "NudityMode" without the quotes. you'll see the line

"NudityMode".Type Boolean.Data 0<<<<change the 0 to 1 and all should be unlocked. Enjoy!  pop.gif  beerchug.gif

the other offset is at 00371499 replace the

Excellent... but how can you tell if the nudity patch is working? I edited the file as specified, and went around looking for college girls on the first level, all of which were still clothed.

Am I missing something or did I do it wrong?

Curious why you are changing the xbe signatures and making the xbe in debug mode.  So warning for ppl with old chips... this wont work.

Hes changing bytes at 0x0128 and 0x0158 which will make non-working backups for ppl with older mods.  (read turning the xbe in debug mode)  He also changing signatures (digital/lan key/hd key), game region, game rating, and other stuff  to many list for unknown reasons.   All these are unnecessary.



The only thing really you have to change is:

AgentEB: I tried looking for the second offset, but i cannot find it, i did a hex value search, and the closest one it found was at offest 00371490.  This that the right one? I guess i'll just expirement and find out.

So after using agentEB's acl crack my backup works off my harddrive, but when I edited the AppInit.JAM to uncensor the nudity as explained in agentEB's post the game does not load, it begins to load and then just goes back to my dash.  So I re-copied the original AppInit.Jam file from my disc and the game runs fine.  After reading indecisve's post I am wondering if too many unnecessary things were changed in the acl crack and it is conflicting with the edits in the AppInit.Jam file to uncensor the nudity.  Should I delete my backup, re-copy my disk and do something different - I just want to be able to run my backup and uncensor the nudity - any ideas anyone?

i saved the text agentEB posted with my Word program. It saved as 56550031.acl.doc
it didnt work when i loaded it in the /apps dir. So i edited the file name in file manager. I changed it 2 this 5655031_ntsc.acl (so it looked like the oher files)
it didn't work ether.
