QUOTE (EvilWays @ Aug 1 2003, 04:51 PM)
And it needs to be 32MB (unless this has changed), and the physical size need to be divisible by 16*1024KB (16384KB) (check it's size in Windows Explorer and show the size as KB not MB).

Yes he is right.. if your USB key is PHYSICALY 32MB then it will work with most MegaXkey software .. and YES the PSO adaptor works with the USB key.. i personally think its x10 better than all those long cables to trip over.. nice small compact ...

as soon as you stick in the memory key if it is compatible the MegaXkey software will rename that USB key to MEGAXKEY as username of the memory stick i think.. then u can start using it with the sotware

Hey, thanks for the update, Gilgamesh.  One question - is there somewhere you might post a disk image of the usb drive?  You could use rawrite on a PC to write to the memory drive -  since it's an image, the disk format shouldn't matter.  The only issue I could see would be needing a 16 meg usb drive, but this might be handy for some people.

Hey mb. I was taking a look at diskcopy, trying to figure out how to write a disk image to a file rather than another disk (probably need another utility), when I just realized -- I can't really post such an image here anyway, since it would have the hacked savegames in it, which I believe are non-postable here by forum rules.

It's actually pretty simple if one can get ahold of AUF somehow, though -- an extra $6 on your hacking overhead to rent it at the local video store, but from there it's smooth sailing. If you're an MA owner, as I am, you can afterwards just copy your MA savegame via ftp to your harddisk (and also thumbdrive for safety) for future use.

Thanks for the info, gilgamesh.  Of course, I find myself in possession of a 256 mb memory stick (PNY Attache), and naturally, the XBox won't recognize it!  *AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!*  So next step is to fsck with dyne:bolic and see if I can get it up.  I can't get the ozxmemory to work either -  on my 98 box it doesn't run (EAccessViolation) , and on the 2k box it won't load the 256 meg image that Xbox linux provides.

So, fun all around.   Looks like the AR will be bought after all..

This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to partition a memory stick?  If it is, would it be possible to make half for the Xbox and the other half for normal data?  I know this wouldn't make it any easier to transfer files between computer and Xbox, but it would allow a person to use it for both an Xbox memory stick, and a universal computer memory stick.

Okay... FINALLY got it working.

Went to CompUSeless, they had a 16 mb stick for $10.  Perfect.  Came home, the XBox recognized it immediately, and though the MXM_BxBx hung on my 98 box, it did so _after_ it transferred the savegame.

So, everything is _finally_ worky-worky.  Now I just need to go rent the game I need - turns out that the 007 game I had is the wrong one (doh!)
