QUOTE (skyhigh88 @ Dec 5 2002, 07:52 AM)
ATTN: Pioneer A05 owners.    I just the A05 DVDwriter.   Everytime I reboot my pc,  I see on my first dos alike screen where it shows all the hardware it's in my computer.    For my Pioneer A05.  It shows 105 on my boot up screen.   Is that normal?        What's the difference between A05 and 105, besides one is retail and 105 is OEM.     Please help me.  I'm very curious about the 105 display on my boot up.     Thanks!

There is no difference, except for the stuff that comes packaged with it.  105 is OEM, and is the exact same unit.

A05 and 105 is the same drive.

The difference is that the A05 comes in a box with a couple of software while the 105 is OEM, comes in a plastic bag without the software.

any news ??

i Was wondering where you bought the drive (assuming you bought them in netherlands )

And the price you paid.
I own a A04 at the moment, im still thinking about getting a A05 or Sony Dru500a.

I will get one on the upcomming HCC days.
Just not sure which one to get.

I hope you get some testing done before the HCC days.

greets bevel

I just got the A05. I am testing it along side the A04. They both seem to be great drives. Two differences besides hardware. The fan on the A05 is enlclosed inside the case now and the A05 will burn to 4X. I will be testing burning a backup to a 4X media that came with my retail A05 just to see if it will read in my xbox or not.

cheers!

That sounds great guvnor,

Then there really is no need for me to keep testing the A04. I will return it tomorrow and just keep the A05.

Thanks! laugh.gif
