Unleashx+xbmc+vd-z3= Problems
« on: July 06, 2010, 05:48:00 AM »

I managed to find a Vdigi Vd-Z3 on ebay, And I've hooked it up to my 22" Emerson. I get a fair picture, but id like to have my xbox transmit in 480p/720p. Problem is, is that when I change the hd settings in the M$ Dash, my choice doesn't stick. I hit yes at the "does you monitor support 480p/720p?" but it always defaults to no. Ive tried changing the res through xbmc, but that only causes the screen to black out and i have to hard reboot.

I really hope someone can help me with my setup. This Vd-Z3 was REALLY hard to find.

I can guess the answers to these, but how is your Xbox modded? If chip or TSOP, which BIOS? If softmodded, which softmod?

I hot-swap soft modded my xbox using this method:http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=496263

The main dash is UnleashX, but I ftp'd the latest stable XBMC and set it to run at boot.

Video settings are stored in the eeprom on your motherboard, and Kingroach NDURE has a virtual eeprom to prevent you from accidentally overwriting the contents of the real eeprom. To make your video changes stick you need to bypass the virtual eeprom before you make the changes.

To bypass the virtual eeprom, run E:\ndts\default.xbe. Select System - File Manager, then launch C:\xb0xdash.xbe (note the zero), then set up your video modes.

Alternatively, you can change the video modes from XBMC once you have bypassed virtual eeprom - have a look at the XBMC4Xbox Wiki entry on how to enable HD for a PAL Xbox. If your Xbox already runs NTSC (presumably it does as you're in Texas!) then you start at step 9.

The screen blacks out when I run default.xbe from e:/ndts. I tried it on my regular tv with standard rca jacks, and got to the menu just fine. But because I was using the rca jacks, I had no HD options. Only Widescreen, letterbox, ect.

Use the eeprom_off.bin method from the XBMC4Xbox Wiki.
