Have u tried Mode 1+2+3? That should output a 15Khz signal for arcade monitors? At least I know it works with Frosty's X2 5035 VGA bios.

Well, the only way to output a 15KHz RGB signal is to set mode 1+2+3 if I remember correctly. I dont think any vga cable sold on the market has that preset, most if not all are mode 2+3 or mode 1+3

setting mode 1+2+3 is easy anyway, u can just open ur AVIP connector and short the relevant pins pairs (9 + 10), (11 + 12) and (13 + 14)

Might seem like a lot of work, but end result is worth it

oh btw, do u have a VGA bios already? If not u're gonna need one

If you are running frosty from your cable it is already running mode 2+3. The only thing you need to do is ground the connection for mode 1.

which is pin 9, and 10.   One of those is ground and the other is the point that needs to be grounded to activate mode1. which when active with mode 2 and 3 produce the 15khz signal you want.

I have no clue about the j-pac. I have never seen one in person only online. If they plug in with the vga cable you should have no problem. Just ground mode1 inside of the xbox and be done with it. Your not going to be lugging it around anyway if it is sitting in an arcade cab. I run the time master in mine not the j-pac. But I think it and the j-pac have the same flaw. Neither emulate all buttons. So for the best functionality you need to hack a controller and do it yourself. I have a set ready for my next project,

I might be getting hold of the wrong end of the stick which is quite probable. But...

Before modding my PAL Xbox where I converted it to NTSC as well for the progressive scan options I just used the Xbox SCART cable.
A fully wired SCART outputs RGB and composite sync at 15kHz. PAL Xbox will output at 60Hz as well as 50Hz.
It's an option under settings in the MS dash.
The progressive scan I use now is better than the 576i I got from SCART however using SCART was a lot better than the 576i composite connection that comes 'out of the box'. I got an official Xbox SCART cable extra when I purchased my Xbox. It was a no-brainer and came with toslink as well.
