No Video Output With Duo X2 Chip
« on: August 04, 2009, 05:53:00 AM »

I recently bought a couple of xbox's to build a slimbox media centre , i case already cut down and another complete to swap the guts over. I was told by the seller that it possibly had a bad bios flash but now that i have dis assembled it i find it has been chipped. When i boot using the eject button i get a blue screen then an error 6 message, booting with the power button i get no video at all. I tried switching the chip switch but it didnt seem to change anything, just wondering where to go from here to restore video output ?

The easiest solution would be to just install a new clean Duo X2. The chip switch is for bank0 and bank1, if both are messed up then it's best just to get a new modchip.

But before you do check if all the connections are solid, specially the d0.

The Duo X2 GS Cromwell comes with Flashbios on one bank and on bank0 is a Linux cromwell bios, I flashed both with different bios. The blue Duo X 2 comes with M8 and Flashbios as far as I know.

This is a good guide:
