Is There....
« on: April 08, 2009, 09:24:00 AM »

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there is a program for the xbox that allows you to split a screen four ways to individual monitors? For example; When you play halo split screen, can you modify the output to four individual monitors, so every person can have his own screen? Thanks to all those who reply.

As truly awesome as it would be, it's not possible with the original XBOX.

Even if there was an application out there that could make the XBOX do that, you would still need 4 GPUs, 4 encoders, and 4 processors inside your XBOX to pull that off. (which is also not possible)

So unfortunately no, it can't be done with the original XBOX. sad.gif

That's what I figured.  sad.gif  Oh well guess we can't have everything with the most hacked game console on the earth can we? Thanks for straightening me out Frosty.

It can't hurt to wish though... happy.gif

It's just too bad that the 360 can do nothing more than play burned games at the moment, I dream of the day that it's as hacked as the original.  cool.gif

Me too, Then I might actually do something with it.  I have one, but I haven't done anything with it, I'm actually considering selling it because it gets absolutely no use.   smile.gif

Amen to that.
I was getting bored with the games I had and didn't have the cashflow to keep buying $50-60 games so I ended up selling it. Its funny, my original XBOX was getting way more use when I had both. The X360 as a media center is okay, but XBMC blows it out of the water by far.

I sold my 360 3 months ago and never looked back
Like Frosty said, too bad its not hackable. With the processing power that console has, you can only imagine.

Actually, there is a solution. But it is an expensive one.

At a movie theater near my house, there is an array of nine televisions stacked into the formation of a tic-tac-toe board. These monitors together show one big image used for ad's. This is achieved using a Video Wall Controller. It accepts one video input signal and can then divide it among multiple monitors, probably a selectable number like 4, 9, 16, and so on. This device could be used for this application if you want to spend the dough but it is cheaper to buy a big screen.

It just depends on how determined you are to achieve this proposed set-up.

Hey thanks xboxmods2977 for the info, however I don't think that would be worth the trouble.  Looks really expensive, and a lot of equipment for just playing halo every now and then, but thanks anyhow.
